Dennis Hejlik, commanding general of Marine Forces Europe and Marine Corps Forces Command, and his wife, Sandy, wave goodbye to the Marine Corps after 44 years of service at the conclusion of Hejlik's retirement ceremony at Marine Barracks Washington July 23. Hejlik was awarded the Distinguished Service Medal for his dedicated service.
