Falcons say farewell to brigade commander

Maj. James Eldridge, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, executive officer, stands before the 2BCT colors and guidons during a change of command ceremony July 12. During the ceremony, Col. Timothy J. McAteer, 2BCT commander, relinquished command of the Brigade to Col. Patrick J. Hynes. McAteer commanded 2BCT for more than two years. He deployed with the unit to Haiti in support of Operation Unified Response in 2010 and to Iraq in 2011 in support of Operation New Dawn. A native of San Antonio, Texas, he will be taking part in a year-long Army fellowship at Yale University.
