Westphal, where the munitions were emplaced along the border of Chile and Peru more than 30 years ago in Quebrada de Escritos, Chile, June 11, 2012. Dr. Westphal participated in the 12th U.S. - Chile Defense Consultative Commission and visited with select Chilean Army units to expand partnership capacity. The U.S. - Chilean defense partnership is focused on a range of initiatives, from disaster response to conducting joint exercises and training.
