Lt. Col. Sam Aldridge, the lead surgeon with the 948th Forward Surgical Team and a native of Gilford, N.H., gives members of the forward surgical team at Forward Operating Base Wright a lesson on issues that can complicate the suture process May 7. The forward surgical team conducts regular training sessions to ensure all members stay sharp with various lifesaving techniques. The forward surgical team is a multibranch team comprised of members of the Army, Navy and Air Force.
