Philippine Army Sgt. The youth futbol clinic was hosted jointly by the Azkals and U.S. service members participating in Exercise Balikatan 2012. Exercise Balikatan is an annual training event aimed at improving combined planning, combat readiness, humanitarian assistance and interoperability between the Armed Forces of the Philippines and U.S. The word "balikatan" in Filipino means "shoulder-to-shoulder."
