Exercise Balikatan       

Filipino boys are shown how to avoid injuries by stretching during a Philippine national futbol team youth clinic April 20, 2012, at Camp Aguinaldo, Philippines. Members of the Philippine national soccer team, the Azkals, and U.S. service members participating in Exercise Balikatan 2012 volunteered their time to assist in the clinic. Balikatan is an annual Republic of the Philippines-U.S. military exercise focusing on field training, humanitarian assistance and a command post exercise. The exercises increases the armed forces’ ability to respond quickly and work together efficiently to provide relief and assistance in the event of natural disasters and other crises. The word "balikatan" in Filipino means "shoulder-to-shoulder."
