Oregon Army National Guard Sgt. Alexander Martin takes “point” during a room-clearing exercise at the Rubkut Training Range in Oman, Jan. 24. Martin and fellow soldiers of the Oregon National Guard’s 1st Squadron, 82nd Cavalry Regiment trained alongside soldiers of the Royal Army of Oman during a two-week U.S. Army Central sponsored event. The exercise was meant to share knowledge and build diplomatic relations.
