Operations chief of First Army's Robotic System Joint Project in Detroit, Master Sgt. Terry Walker, tells South Pontotoc High School ninth graders the specifics of the Mini-EOD robot before they try their hand at operating it. The PlayStation controls for the Mini-EOD makes it user friendly. The Mini-EOD's flippers help it to climb up and down stairs and rough terrain, and is primarily used for searching for improvised explosive devices insurgents may hide in the trash. It is also used for gathering information about hazardous chemicals so that solutions can be decided from a safe distance.
