Landing craft, air cushions, a military hovercraft for moving personnel and heavy equipment, arrive aboard the USS Kearsarge, Jan. 30 for the start of Exercise Bold Alligator 2012. This exercise is the largest naval amphibious exercise in the past 10 years and represents the Navy and Marine Corps' revitalization of the full range of amphibious operations. The exercise is scheduled to occur through Feb. 12 and take place afloat and ashore in and around Virginia and North Carolina.
