A fire truck from Oro Vista and the Holloman Air Force Base Fire Department are staged outside of the Alamogordo Funeral Home Jan. 5, 2012, in remembrance of former Oro Vista Fire Department fire chief Carmello Gonzalez. Gonzalez served as a firefighter at Holloman for two years and in San Jose, Calif., for 27 years before returning to Alamogrodo to serve as the fire chief for the Oro Vista Fire Department.
