Col. Paul E. Funk II, commander, 1st "Ironhorse" Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, and a native of Roundup, Mont., speaks at a ceremony prior to presenting the First Strike Award to the 2nd Battalion, 8th Cavalry Regiment at Camp Taji, Iraq, July 17. The 2nd Bn., 8th Cav. Regt. received the award for being the first battalion within the Ironhorse Brigade to accomplish its fiscal year re-enlistment objectives for fiscal year 2007. Recently, the Ironhorse Brigade also achieved the distinction of being the first brigade in the 1st Cav. Div. to meet its mission goals for the fiscal year.
