The parents of Staff Sgt. Jeff Stich proudly show off their sign welcoming their airman son back home. The last New Jersey National Guardsmen deployed to Iraq returned to Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, N.J., just in time for the holidays on Dec. 20, 2011. The fifteen airmen from the 108th Wing's Security Force Squadron deployed on July 12 in support of Operation New Dawn. During their deployment, the airmen conducted air base ground defense missions, which included perimeter patrols, flight line security, vehicle searches, and processing personnel at base entry points.
