Navy Master Chief Construction Mechanic Kathy Keith (right) awards Utilitesman 2nd Class Jessica San Roque the Expeditionary Warfare pin in a ceremony, in Afghanistan, Dec. 16. San Roque chose Keith to pin her because Keith had been her mentor. Keith is the first female to claim the rank of master chief in her rate, construction mechanic. She is currently deployed to Camp Leatherneck, Afghanistan and is stationed at Camp Krutke with Naval Mobile Construction Battalion Four.
