Navy Master Chief Construction Mechanic Kathy Keith is the first female to claim the rank of master chief in her rate. She is currently deployed to Camp Leatherneck, Afghanistan and is stationed at Camp Krutke with Naval Mobile Construction Battalion Four. Keith sits on the front porch of the building housing Alpha Company leadership. Alpha Company members call themselves Alpha Dawgs. Keith sits with MacGyver, the Alpha Dawgs' mascot, a gift from Keith's sister, Mona Kieth.
