Sgt. 1st Class Craig Gilbert, 1st Battalion, 3rd Special Forces Group (Airborne), receives the Army Commendation Medal with “V” device from Lt. Gen. John F. Mulholland Jr., commander, United States Army Special Operations Command, during a valor ceremony Sept. 15, 2011. Thirty soldiers from the group were honored in the ceremony where they were awarded respectively: two Silver Stars, seven Bronze Stars with “V” device, 10 Army Commendation Medals with “V” device and 11 Purple Hearts.
