The U.S. and Royal Thai Marines were participating in the Royal Thai Marine-instructed class as part of a training evolution that included live fire weapons training, combat lifesaving, military operations in urban terrain and improvised explosive device training. Cobra Gold 2011 is an annual multinational exercise designed to improve partner nation interoperability.
