U.S. Marines with Combat Assault Battalion, 3rd Marine Divison, III Marine Expeditionary Force, attached to Ground Combat Element, 3rd Marine Expeditionary Brigade Forward, III Marine Expeditionary Force, and Royal Thai Marines taste the different fruits and vegetables they might encounter in a jungle survival situation at a jungle survival course at Ban Chan Krem, Thailand, Feb. 14, during Exercise Cobra Gold 2011. The U.S. and Royal Thai Marines were participating in the Royal Thai Marine-instructed class as part of a training evolution that included live fire weapons training, combat lifesaving, military operations in urban terrain and improvised explosive device training. Cobra Gold 2011 is an annual multinational exercise designed to improve partner nation interoperability.
