Anniston, Ala., resident, 1st Sgt. Kenneth Owens, and Maj. Leslie Vazquez from Honolulu, Hawaii, display their unit's Yellow Banner and Welcome plaque upon its return from a deployment to Iraq during a ceremony at Army Support Activity-Dix's B Company June 14. Their unit, 1490th Civil Affairs Company, whose motto is "Dark Dragaons Secure the Victory," is an Army Reserve organization from Anniston, Ala. It conducted a civil affairs mission around the Diyala province area in Iraq and mobilized out of Dix last summer. The Yellow Banner is given to units who mobilize through ASA-Dix as a symbolic gesture that they are in the thoughts and well-wishes of the ASA-Dix community. The banner is hung in Infantry Park while the unit is deployed and given back to the organization upon its return from combat.
