Maj. Gen. Simeon Trombitas, commanding general, JTF-Haiti, says farewell to Soldiers deployed from U.S. Army South just before they board a plane back to Fort Sam Houston, Texas May 14. The Soldiers of USARSO have been in Haiti since mid March, serving as the command and control element of JTF-Haiti. As USARSO transitions out of Haiti, it marks the beginning of traditional U.S. Southern Command theater security operations such as MEDRETEs.
