Airman Britton Busbee, 557th Expeditionary Rapid Engineer Deployable Heavy Operation Repair Squadron of Engineers, operates pave equipment to remove dirt and rocks from a parking lot during construction of the transient village at Joint Base Balad, Iraq, March 2. The construction project began at the end of January and is slated to be complete by mid-May. The village will house up to 600 redeploying servicemembers and offer laundry service, a USO, a gymnasium, latrines, a passenger waiting facility and a commercial carrier yard for cargo. Airman Busbee is a native of Birmingham, Ala., and is deployed from Hurlburt Field Air Force Base, Fla.
