III Corps, based out of Fort Hood, Texas, assumed their duties as part of United States Forces - Iraq during a transfer of authority ceremony March 13 at the Al Faw Palace at Camp Victory, Iraq. III Corps replaced I Corps from Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Wash., during the ceremony.
