Volunteers repaint shade shelters at Lake Kaweah Sept. 26 in observance of National Public Lands Day. More than 320 volunteers from Boy Scout Troops 310 and 274, Girl Scout Troop 15, the Kaweah Delta Water Conservation District, Redwood High School's Nature Club and Mount Whitney High School joined Kaweah park rangers in planting trees, removing invasive species and installing a new sprinkler system as part of the park's annual National Public Lands Day celebration.
