U.S. Army Soldiers from the 3rd Infantry Regiment, known as "The Old Guard," march in formation during the 2009 Non-commissioned Officer Parade at Whipple Field on Ft. Myer, Va., May 19. The purpose of the event was to honor 17 current members of the U.S. Congress who proudly served as non-commissioned officers in the U.S. Army prior to continuing their lives of service in the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives.
