New York Army National Guard 1st Sgt. Phoebe Larned, right, and Sgt. 1st Class David Vetter, center, pass up a Christmas Tree to Sgt. 1st Class Greg Martin to load a delivery truck with donated holiday trees. Nearly 20 New York National Guard volunteers from the Air National Guard’s 109th Airlift Wing, based in Scotia, New York and 42nd Combat Aviation Brigade, based in Latham, N.Y., assisted in the loading of donated Christmas Trees at Ellms Tree Farm in Ballston Spa, N.Y., December 3. The volunteers turned out to help load some 160 Christmas Trees bound for military families at Fort Bragg, N.C. The effort supported Trees for Troops, a nationwide campaign to deliver donated trees to military personnel and their families across the country and around the globe.
