David Yurevich, an environmental specialist, holds a clear tube that is used to test samples of fuel turned in at the hazardous materials yard operated by Logistics Civil Augmentation Program contractor Fluor. Reusable fuel will be filtered and used as a supplemental fuel source at the solid waste incinerator. Fluor operates similar programs at Jalalabad/Fenty, Marmal and Dahlke and has realized a cost avoidance of $6.69 million since early 2010.
