Patrick LeBlanc, AFSBn-Bagram contracting officer’s representative for safety and environmental, talks to David Yurevich, an environmental specialist at the hazardous materials yard operated by Logistics Civil Augmentation Program contractor Fluor, about Fluor’s initiative to inspect, filter and usable fuel turned in to the hazardous materials yard so it can then be taken to the solid waste incinerator to be used in incinerators. This recycling effort has resulted in a cost savings of $6.69 million since early 2010 at Fluor operated sites. Fuel in drums to the rear is awaiting the filtering process and fuel ready to be taken to the solid waste incinerator is seen in the foreground.
