Children from a school in Galbenes, Latvia, ask U.S. Army Spc. Jordan S. Eley, a human resource specialist from the 2nd Battalion, 8th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, for his autograph during a community outreach to the rural school Nov. 12, 2014. U.S. and Latvian soldiers visited the school, spent time interacting with students from first grade to 12th grade and enjoyed musical performances, slideshows and history lessons presented by the students. The soldiers were also provided a chance to explain what they do for the U.S. Army. This community outreach is a part of the U.S. Army Europe-led Operation Atlantic Resolve land force assurance training exercise taking place across Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland to enhance multinational interoperability, strengthen relationships among allied militaries, contribute to regional stability and demonstrate U.S. commitment to NATO.
