U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Julianne Showalter, 145th Public Affairs photojournalist, provides alert photography during the 145th Airlift Wing’s anti-terrorism exercise. As part of the exercise a simulated car bomb detonated inside the perimeter of the North Carolina Air National Guard Base, Charlotte Douglas International Airport, Nov. 1, 2014. The exercise initiated force protection measures across the base testing the Wing’s ability to respond accordingly. The 145th Force Support Squadron conducted a search and recovery, sweeping the area where the simulated car bomb detonated while looking for debris and casualties. Showalter, as the alert photographer, documented evidence of the location and condition of the findings before they were bagged and tagged. (U.S. Air National Guard photo by Senior Airman Laura J.
