A CH-47 Chinook flight engineer from Bravo Company, 1/111st General Support Aviation Battalion, Mississippi Army National Guard, monitors the aircraft’s engine start on the Combat Readiness Training Center (CRTC) flight line in Gulfport, Miss., prior to take off for an area familiarization flight for members of Special Boat Team 12, of Naval Amphibious Base Coronado, Calif., participating in Exercise Southern Strike 15 (SS15), Oct. 28, 2014. SS15 is a total force, multiservice training exercise hosted by the Mississippi National Guard's CRTC, from Oct. 27 through Nov. 7, 2014. The SS15 exercise emphasizes air-to-air, air-to-ground, and special operations forces training opportunities.
