Okinawa high school student-athletes try to separate themselves from the field of competitors Oct. 1 here during a cross country meet. Department of Defense Education Activity Pacific schools, Kadena High School and Kubasaki High School, compete against local schools, Zion Christian Academy and Okinawa Christian School International, once a year in a 5-kilometer race.
