Staff Sgt. John Etheridge of Roy, Utah, holds the bio cards of the three Utah Army National Guard Soldiers who lost their lives in Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom. Etheridge ran a mile for each individual in the Run for the Fallen on Kandahar Airfield, Afghanistan, Sept. 10, 2014. Teams of runners volunteered to run for 30 minutes throughout the night to log miles toward reaching a goal of 3,320 total miles, one for each of the coalition service members who have died in Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom.
