Cpl. Vidal G. Salcido, a San Diego, California, native, readies his weapon Aug. 22 at the Central Training Area. He provided security for fellow Marines who were tending to the pilot of a simulated crashed aircraft as part of a tactical recovery of aircraft and personnel training event. Salcido is a squad leader with Weapons Company, 1st Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment, currently assigned to 4th Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force, under the unit deployment program.
