Iraqis offer Tammer, or dates, to pilgrims traveling along Baghdad's Airport Road, Feb. 11, heading south to Karbala for the Islamic religious holiday Arba'een. Shiite Muslims conduct an annual pilgrimage to the city in observance of the Islamic holiday, Arba'een. Soldiers of Company E, 1st Battalion, 22nd Infantry Regiment, attached to the 1st Special Troops Bn., 1st Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, deployed to the Rashid District of southern Baghdad in support of Multi-National Division – Baghdad, assisted Iraqi security forces provide security for the religious observance that was once forbidden by the Saddam regime. The combat engineers are responsible for maintaining the "Raider" Brigade's route clearance mission, assisting ISF to ensure that the roads are free of improvised explosive devices and unexploded ordnance.
