Soldiers from Medical Command, New York Army National Guard are assisted by Dr. Anar Patel, an emergency room physician from Albany Medical Center, as they insert a chest tube into a computerized training mannequin during an exercise at Camp Smith Training Center, Cortlandt Manor, N.Y., on Aug. 5, 2014. In an actual patient, the tube is inserted in order to extract air or blood from the lungs so a patient can breathe better. Patel was invited to attend a day of training and give them tips on how to improve this skill. (U.S. Army National Guard photo by Sgt 1st Class Steven Petibone/Released)
