Originally from the small West African nation of Benin, Spc. Saliou Aboudou began the process for U.S. citizenship once he became a Soldier with Detachment 1, 1133rd Transportation Company, 1034th Combat Sustainment Battalion out of Iowa City, Iowa. With help from his unit, Aboudou's service with the Iowa Army National Guard made it possible for his dream of American citizenship to come true. (Iowa Army National Guard photo by Staff Sgt.
