Staff Sgt. Logan Combs from Raleigh, N.C., and an infantryman with Company A, 1st Battalion, 8th Cavalry Regiment 'Mustangs,' 2nd Brigade Combat Team 'Black Jack,' 1st Cavalry Division, is awarded the Bronze Star Medal with Valor by Brig. Gen. Michael Bills, commanding general, 1st Cav. Div., on Cooper Field here June 24 for his actions in combat. During Black Jack's deployment to Afghanistan, Combs' group was stationed on Forward Operating Base Pasab, Kandahar Province.
