U.S. Navy Petty Officer 1st Class John C. Crockett demonstrates how to properly apply a femoral fracture splint on U.S. Marine Lance Cpl. Natalee J. Dillow during a combat lifesaving course Apr. 5 at Gwangyang Port, Republic of Korea during exercise Freedom Banner 2014. The course teaches service members how to assist trauma victims if they are the first responders in an emergency. Some of the techniques taught focused on hooking a victim to an IV system, how to apply tourniquets, and various ways to create and properly place splints. Crockett is a hospital corpsman with Combat Logistics Regiment 35, 3rd Marine Logistics Group, III Marine Expeditionary Force. Dillow is an ammunition technician with the regiment.
