Airman 1st Class Justin Cole, 62nd Expeditionary Reconnaissance Squadron crew chief, monitors the engine and propeller of an MQ-1 Predator as it starts up at a base in southern Afghanistan, Oct. 25, 2008. With the pilot and sensor operator inside the ground control station, they rely heavily on communication via radio with their crewchiefs to have a successful launch. Cole is deployed from the 432nd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, Creech Air Force Base, Nevada, and hails from Orange Park, Fla.
