Petty Officer 3rd Class David E. Martinez of Columbus, Ga., the lead instructor for the Combat Life Saver classes, writes on a white board during one of his classes aboard the Yuma Proving Grounds, Ariz. April 16, 2014. The classes are taking place during the battalion’s training exercise, Talon Ex. The classes started off going over the behavior of some one’s body at a normal state and discussed the factors that could change that and how to assess the change. The classes are in progress and will continue until April 23 and upon the completion of the course the Marines and sailors who attended will receive their CLS certification. The service members will put their knowledge to test during a final practical application exam at the end of the training.
