Petty Officer 3rd Class David E. Martinez of Columbus, Ga., a corpsman with 3rd Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment's Headquarters and Service Company, reads a slide from his power point during his class aboard Yuma Proving Grounds, Ariz. April 16, 2014. The classes are providing the Marines and sailors with the unit the basic tool set necessary to save a fellow service member's life and maybe even their own. Martinez is the lead instructor for the Combat Life Saver course that is taking place during Talon Exercise. Talon Ex is paired with the annual training event of Weapons and Tactics Instructors course to maximize the units time aboard the proving grounds. Talon ex focuses on the unit's ground combat fighting skills and WTI focus on the integration of the air and ground concepts of combat.
