Iraqi army soldiers clear brush from a ravine on Oct. 8, 2008, so that a culvert can be placed to make a former impassable road a asset to the local population. The soldiers were lending a hand to Engineers from the 561st Engineering Company, 5th Engineering Battalion who were responsible for laying bridges and placing culverts along the stretch of road connecting Samarra and corresponding MSR Tampa to Motibiju, Mubarak village, Abu Isis and Abu Taha. The road had to be completed to allow for heavy equipment to be brought in so that two wells can be drilled to provide a fresh water supply to the local populous.
