    108th Public Affairs Detachment

Pfc. Brandon Durham, 2nd Battalion, 263rd Air Defense Artillery, receives a dummy round during the training and practice portion of the live-fire exercise. This round will be placed into the Avenger Missile System and then transferred to the shoulder-fired mount. Soldiers from the South Carolina National Guard’s 263rd Army Air and Missile Defense Command and the 2nd Battalion, 263rd Air Defense Artillery, both from Anderson, S.C., used drones as targets during a live-fire exercise at Fort Bliss April 5-9 in preparation for deployment to the National Capital Region. Their mission is to protect the skies over the nation's capital from aerial threats. (U.S. Army National Guard photo by Sgt. Brad Mincey/Released)
