Sgt. Nathan Hilmanowski (left) of St. Paul, Minn., and Sgt. William Stanley from Fort Collins, Colo., plot their location on a map during the land navigation event in the U.S. Army Alaska Winter Games at Fort Wainwright, Alaska, March 10-13. Hilmanowski and Stanley are competing in the games as part of a team from 1st Squadron, 40th Cavalry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division. The games are designed to test the soldiers' ability to execute required cold-weather skills and tasks with realistic challenges the 29, 10-man teams from across Alaska are competing in.
