Airman 1st Class Matthew Lawrence, pavement and equipment operator assigned to the 379th Expeditionary Civil Engineer Squadron, completes a serviceable tag with expiration dates and lot numbers of the trauma, minor and quik clot modules to attach to an individual first aid kit, Sept. 19, 2008, at an undisclosed air base in Southwest Asia. Once a week, volunteers recertify about 1,200 IFAKs to make sure the items inside are current so they can be used in the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility. Airman Lawrence, a native of Richmond, Va., is deployed from Grand Forks Air Force Base, N.D., supporting Operations Iraqi Freedom, Enduring Freedom and Joint Task Force - Horn of Africa.
