Marines with 1st Marine Regiment stage their gear aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, Calif., before departing for Helmand Province, Afghanistan, Feb. 10, 2014. The regiment will be the last regimental combat team to deploy in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. First Marines was also the last regiment to leave Vietnam.
