Cpl. David Montiel, an infantryman attached to Provincial Rifle Platoon 3, acts as assistant machine gunner for Sgt. Iva Jones, data sergeant with Headquarters Company, Regimental Combat Team 5, and platoon guide for PRP-3, Sept. 4, 2008, just outside Al Asad Air Base, Iraq. Montiel, a machine gunner by trade, was helping train non-infantry Marines during a 10-day training cycle for Marines serving on PRP-3.
