The ropes, used to tie the watercraft while docked, must be whipped to prevent the lines from unlaying. The crew is preparing the ropes for its new vessel, the LCU-2016, Corinth. In addition to transferring equipment from the Five Forks, the crew spent days preparing the Corinth installing equipment already within the local fleet, thus avoiding approximately $50,000 in additional costs without reducing mission capability. The Five Forks will return to the U.S. for its six-month on condition cyclic maintenance and three-month service lfe extension program.
