Spc. Carl Peterson, an intelligence specialist with Intelligence and Security Company, Headquarters and Headquarters Battalion, 1st Cavalry Division, ices his arm after donating blood in support of his battalion's blood drive at the Robertson Blood Center, at Fort Hood, Texas, Nov. 4, 2013. Peterson, who hails from Ridgecrest, Calif., along with fellow 1st Cavalry Division soldiers, donated blood, plasma and platelets which will be used for troopers in Afghanistan and in the U.S. for Department of Defense dependents.
