Rigid Hull Inflatable Boats (RHIBs), assigned to the patrol coastal ships USS Firebolt (PC 10) and USS Whirlwind (PC 11), and a Riverine Command Boat, assigned to Commander, Task Group 56.7.4, Coastal Riverine Squadron 4, transit through open water during exercise Spartan Kopis. Spartan Kopis is a U.S. 5th Fleet training event that validates the effectiveness of using joint aviation assets in a maritime environment, as well as exercising joint force command and control structure and communications.
