Sgt. 1st Class Eric D. Allen, a Huntsville, Ala., native, and the former electronics maintenance chief with 308th Brigade Support Battalion, 17th Fires Brigade, holds a detachable locking bar he modified with his section as a more cost-effective way to repair the AM-7239D vehicular amplifier adapter model. Allen and his section were intent on being resilient and finding a better and more cost-effective way to fix the adapter, which was approved by the Department of the Army as an official way to repair the adapter in April 2012.
